Noxious Weeds

Crested Butte, located at the headwaters of the Colorado River and known as the Wildflower Capital of Colorado, places a high priority on protecting its natural environment.

Noxious weeds threaten our native wildflowers and ecosystems, creating monocultures that displace biodiversity and harm downstream communities and agricultural lands.

With support from regional partners, the Town has developed an effective Weed Management Plan to help safeguard our cherished natural environment and preserve local biodiversity. The following is the Town of Crested Butte's noxious weed list.
